Dr. Matthew Blondin has been serving the eye care needs of the Torrington area community since 1979. He is a 1975 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1978. He is both DPA and TPA certified, and currently offers a complete range of eye care services including blood pressure screening and glaucoma testing. Dr. Blondin is Chairman of the CT State Board of Optometric Examiners, a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. In 2014, Dr. Matthew Blondin's son in law Dr. Michael Shea joined the practice. Dr. Shea graduated from MCPHS University in Boston, MA, in 2011 and from the New England College of Optometry in 2014. He completed a residency in ocular disease at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Newington, CT. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and he is a member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists and the American Optometric Association. In 2017, Dr. Jessica Zebrowski joined our practice, she graduated from New England College of Optometry in 2017 and she has a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Stonehill College in 2013. Dr. Zebrowski did internships at Boston Medical Center, New England Eye Institute, Norfolk Naval Base, VA, South End Health Center, MA and at the Newington VA, CT. Blondin Shea Eye Care is equipped with the latest in computer technology including the Marco Automated Refraction system,  Zeiss Cirrus HD Optical Coherence Tomography, Digital Retinal photography and the Octopus Automated Perimetry.  Our office provides a full service eye wear selection including many designer frames, transition lenses and lightweight polycarbonate lenses, many brands of contact lenses and various varieties of sunglasses. Our doctors are experienced professionals serving all ages from infants to seniors including those with special needs. We are centrally located in downtown Torrington with parking and is fully handicapped accessible.

    Jessica Zebrowski

    In 2017, Dr. Jessica Zebrowski joined our practice, she graduated from New England College of Optometry in 2017 and she has a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Stonehill College in 2013. Dr. Zebrowski did internships at Boston Medical Center, New England Eye Institute, Norfolk Naval Base, VA, South End Health Center, MA and at the Newington VA, CT.

    In 2014, Dr. Matthew Blondin's son in law Dr. Michael Shea joined the practice. Dr. Shea graduated from MCPHS University in Boston, MA, in 2011 and from the New England College of Optometry in 2014. He completed a residency in ocular disease at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Newington, CT. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and he is a member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists and the American Optometric Association. His special interests in eye care include fitting of scleral gas permeable contact lenses and genetic testing for macular degeneration risk and treatment. In his free time, Dr. Shea enjoys running, biking and spending time with his Wife Rose and daughter Lily. Dr. Shea practices in both Torrington and Kent Locations.
